Elsie Helen ArcherNovember 20, 1931 ~ October 7, 2017 (age 85)
Elsie Helen Archer, 85 of Industry passed away at 4:25 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.
She was born on November 20, 1931 in McDonough County to Alva and Ica Flack Skiles. She married G. Franklin Archer on July 8, 1951 in Industry. He passed away on December 15, 1997.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Marjorie McMillan and Velma Skiles.
Elsie is survived by two sons, Steve (Kristi) Archer of Washington and Scott (Cheryl) Archer of Mapleton; one daughter, Jill (Lynsey) Lynn of Pontiac; six grandchildren, Kelsey (Jake) Bill, Amy (Matthew) Sumner, Haley (Brent) Hinderliter, Evan (Amanda) Archer, April Lynn and Jared Lynn; one great-granddaughter, Alexis Sumner; two brothers, Al (Janice) Skiles and Jerry (Linda) Skiles and one sister, Jane (Richard) Russell.
Elsie lived all of her life in the Industry area. She graduated from Industry High School and attended Western Illinois University. She was a member of the Doddsville United Methodist Church. She worked as a farm wife, drove a school bus and worked as a teachers aide at Industry High School for many years and in her early life she worked at Newberrys Five and Dime store in Macomb.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Industry High School with Reverend David Haney officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the school. Burial will be in Doddsville Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to either the Doddsville Methodist Church, Pinhook Park or the Windmill Maintenance Fund.
Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb is in charge of arrangements.
