Janyce "Jan" Heath Lynn, age 84, of Macomb, IL passed away at 8:20 a.m. on Friday, April 13, 2018 surrounded by her family at Wesley Village in Macomb.
She was born August 14, 1933 in Wichita, KS. She was raised by her adoptive parents, William (Bill) and Doris Heath. She married Jack Tobin in Waukegan, IL in 1959. He preceded her in death on July 16, 1977. She later married Larry Lynn in Macomb, IL on Dec. 31, 2008. He survives.
She is, also, survived by one daughter, Jennifer (Steve) Tibbitts of Macomb, two granddaughters, Mandy (Andy) Parchert of Milan, IL and Melanie (Nick) Whittington of Denver, CO, one great granddaughter, Sloane Whittington, and one great grandson, "Baby" Parchert, due in July, one sister Jill (Riley) Love, one brother Terry ( Myra) Heath, one sister-in law Lynn Heath, stepchildren Lauren Brokaw and Lisa (L.D.) Latta, step grandchildren Mike (Tina) Tibbitts, Mark ( Sarah) Tibbitts, step great grandchildren Jaycee & Jayden Tibbitts and Brenlee & Madden Tibbitts, and several other step grand children and great grand children. Several nieces and nephews including Shannon (Todd) Watkins, Danielle (Paul) Garbis, Travis Heath, Tara Heath and Carson Love, and many special friends she considered family, also survive, as well as her beloved cat Maggie Mae.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack, brother Steve Heath, and one nephew, Hunter Love.
Jan lived her early life moving throughout mountain towns as the daughter of a railroader, attending many schools until they settled in Waukegan, IL. She was a graduate of Waukegan High School. She worked many jobs throughout her adult life from working for Great Lakes Naval Station, then Merill Lynch in Chicago, to various doctor's offices in Waukegan, banks in Lake Forest IL and Racine, WI, and even owning her own business in Racine, WI. In her later years in Macomb she worked at Chelsa's Hallmark and Classy Closet.
Jan loved music and during various times of her life enjoyed playing the violin, being in church bands and choirs, and volunteering for the Waukegan Symphony for years. In addition to her love for music, she attended church regularly, enjoying teaching Sunday school and being a choir advisor and most recently was a member of Good Hope United Methodist Church. She was active in many other community organizations throughout her life including Jr. Women's League where she served as President and Assistant State Director, Brownies, Girl Scouts, Campfire Girls, PTO President, Ladies Red Hat Club, and FOE Eagles Auxiliary in Macomb and Carthage.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb. Reverend Mike Herdt will officiate. Family will meet with friends from noon - 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Following the services, cremation rights will be accorded. Private burial of cremains will be held at a later time. Immediately following Sunday's services, all are invited to a reception and celebration of Jan's life at the Macomb Country Club from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.
