She applied her degree in Home Economics to every aspect of her life, from high school teaching to sewing fine designs and creating welcoming homes for family and friends alike.

She loved books, animals, and travel. She was passionate about ice cream. Her apple dumplings are unsurpassed. She was kind and patient, tough and gritty, smiling and lovely. Her heart was open and she will be missed as a wonderful friend, mother and grandmother.

Betsy was active in First Presbyterian Church, P.E.O., Parker Club, Circle, Macomb Country Club and other organizations.
