Richard Duane HoodFebruary 17, 1940 ~ March 27, 2017 (age 77)
Richard Duane Hood, 77, of rural Industry passed away at 12 noon Monday, March 27, 2017 at his residence.
Duane was born on February 17, 1940 to Harold and ViAnna Bagley Hood in Macomb. He married Ann Williams on Novmeber 12, 1961. She passed away on September 15, 2004.
He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Duane is survived by his children, Julie Hood, Susan Hood and Steve (Lisa) Hood all of the Industry area and four grandchildren, Andrew (Amy) Taylor, Alaina Taylor, Sidney Hood and Rachel Hood; great-grandson, Landon Taylor; special friends, Rose Blackburn of Rushville and Bob and Glenda Grant of Roseville and nieces and nephews, Michele Taylor, Michael Hood, Jim (Jenny) Hood and their families.
Duane attended schools in Adair and Blandinsville, graduating from Blandinsville High School in 1958. After graduating, he worked for the Macomb Dairy until moving to his farm in 1961, where he farmed with his family until his passing.
Duane enjoyed earning a living farming with his family, pulling antique tractors and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a founding member of the Argyle Gas Engine Association. He was also a member of the Doddsville United Methodist Church, Industry Masonic Lodge, State Bank Of Industry bowling team and pulled tractors with the Bald Bluff Antique Tractor Pulling Association.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2017 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Reverend David Haney officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Masonic services will be conducted at 5:15 p.m. Thursday by the Macomb Masonic Lodge. Burial will be in the Doddsville Cemetery.
Memorials may be given in memory of Duane to Doddsville United Methodist Church, Doddsville Cemetery or MDH Hospice Program.
