Robert L. HowardApril 5, 1943 ~ December 1, 2017 (age 74)
Robert L. Howard, 74, of Macomb passed away peacefully at 11 a.m. Friday, December 1, 2017 at Heartland Healthcare Center in Macomb.
He was born on April 5, 1943 in Hannibal, Missouri to Paul and Oliva McBride Howard. He first married Wanda Clark in Bowling Green, Missouri. He later married Linda Wilson on September 17, 1988 in Macomb. She survives.
Also surviving are four children, Pauline Howard of Peoria, Robert Howard, Jr of Peoria, Joseph Howard of Macomb and Timothy (Leslie) Howard of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two step-children, Walter Howard of Peoria and David (Mary) Wilson of Macomb; eleven sisters, Velma Walton of Peoria, Virginia McBride, Donna Reese, Janet Jenkins, Marla Clark, Connie Howard, Bonnie Roelandt and Vera Howard, all of Davenport, Iowa, Bessie Brown and Carla Bass of Rock Island and Lola Howard of Quincy; three brothers, Johnny and Danny Howard of Davenport and Archie Howard of Quincy. He also raised two grandchildren, Joseph (Lauren) Cloud of Martinsburg, West Virginia and Serenidy Howard of Macomb; several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Paul, Jr and James Howard; two step-daughters, Krista Wilson and Karla Wilson McGaughey.
He worked at Caterpillar in Mapleton for 42 years before his retirement on December 1, 2004. He also worked for Kitchen Made Pie Company in Peoria. He was a member of UAW 974 in East Peoria. He loved to hunt, go fishing, riding motorcycles and watching television. His compassion and kindness will not be forgotten.
He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Macomb.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Macomb with Bishop Matt Thomas officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb.
