Timothea Thorne Gentry-HarrisSeptember 20, 1959 ~ September 24, 2017 (age 58)
Timothea Thorne Gentry-Harris, 58, a wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend passed away unexpectedly
on Sunday, September 24, 2017.
Born on September 20, 1959, Thea was the eldest of seven children born to Joyce Powell Gentry and Benjamin Francis Gentry, both who preceded her in death.
Thea graduated from Macomb Senior High School and attended Monmouth College where she studied nursing. For 18 years, Thea worked at Western Illinois University as a Campus Operator. During that time, if you called the main switchboard and heard a welcoming greeting of: Western Illinois University or Campus Operator, you were most often talking to Thea.
On April 12, 2013, Thea married Steven Harris who survives. The couple enjoyed traveling to Steves concerts and spending time at home with their dogs and cat. Thea was known for her good humor, loving spirit and sharp wit. While she loved her dog, Bubba, she always had an inexplicable love of frogs which earned her the nickname of Froggy to her family.
Thea is survived by her two daughters, Danica Gentry-Rist (Montgomery) and Reese Gentry, both of Peoria. She also leaves behind grandchildren whom she cherished: Baylee Gentry, Warren Lewis, Taylor Lewis, Maysen Lewis, Dayvid Lewis, Jasmine Rist and Kennadi Rist. She is preceded in death by her grandson, Jeremiah Rist.
She is also survived by her sisters and brothers, Thaddeus Adair Gentry (Lisa) of Schaumburg, IL, Tiffani Mari Griffin (Jeff) of Ashland, OR, Joy Anastasia Gentry of Arlington, MA, Gabrielle Claudine Gentry of Portland, OR, Benjamin John Gentry (Renee) of Macomb, and Gunnar Powell Gentry of Macomb.
In addition, she leaves behind a niece and seven nephews, Samantha and Jeremy Gentry, Joshua and Finn Griffin, Jasper Gentry, Benjamin, Payton and Boston Gentry.
Thea was also a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church in Macomb, where she attended Sunday school and made her confirmation.
A celebration of Thea's life will be held on Saturday, November 11 at 12 noon, at the Sandburg Theatre, on the basement level of the Union of Western Illinois University, 986 W. Murray Street, in Macomb.
