Billy Lee Roberts, 86, of rural Tennessee passed away at 11:26 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2019 at 1750 North 900th Road, Tennessee.
He was born on December 14, 1932 in Birmingham, Illinois to Elmer Roy and Edith Marie David Roberts. He married Eleanor Short on August 3, 1957 in Carthage. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Brenda L. (Keith) Beckner of Colchester, Steven Dean Roberts of Burlington, Iowa and Betty A. (Kurt) Martin of Tennessee; 5 grandchildren, Kristina Woodvine, Cody Renshaw, Caitlin Beckner, Britany (Shawney) Knowles and Kindra (Justin) Waack; two great-grandchildren, Taegyn Knowles and Rohen Knowles; two brothers, George Roberts and Paul (Joyce) Roberts and two sisters, Zelma Swanson and Darlene (Neil) Twidwell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren, Clint Renshaw and Heather Roberts; two sisters and three brothers.
Billy lived in Macomb for 37 years before moving to Tennessee in 1996. He worked for King-Sealey in Macomb for 35 years and also managed the Macomb VFW for 12 years.
He was an Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a life-member of the Macomb VFW.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb with Reverend Ben Ellefritz officiating. There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to the Macomb VFW Post 1921.
