Carol L. Hobby, 70, of Blandinsville, Illinois passed away at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at her residence.
She was born on September 28, 1946 in Pittsfield, Illinois to Otto and Vada VaNatta Gray. She married Roger Hobby on September 5, 1965. He survives.
Also surviving is her mother, Vada Gray of Blandinsville; one daughter, Robin (Bryan) Hofmeister of Acworth, Georgia; one son, Kevin Hobby of Blandinsville; three grandchildren, Jacob (Kristy) Hobby, Brandon Gebhardt and Clayton Gebhardt; four great-grandchildren and two brothers, Jim Gray of Blandinsville and Craig Gray of Morrison, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Carol lived her early life in Baylis, Illinois and has lived in Blandinsville since she was six years old. She formerly bowled in the Blandinsville Bowling leagues, coached girls softball summer leagues in her younger years and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
She worked as a bus driver for Northwestern School District and later for West Prairie School District for over 30 years. She had also worked as a waitress.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 25, 2017 at Glade City Cemetery in Blandinsville with Reverend Gordon Blankenship officiating.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, August 24, 2017 at the Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Blandinsville.
Memorials may be made to MDH Hospice or the Blandinsville Rescue Squad.
