Elaine Heffner, age 84, of Industry, Illinois, passed away at 5:10 a.m. December 3,2019, at Heartland Healthcare Center in Macomb.
She was born on October 2nd, 1935 to Ernest and Inez (Kelly) Heaton. She married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Heffner, on December 25, 1957. Bob passed away July 3rd, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Betty Heaton; a stillborn daughter; and a great grand-daughter, Alexis Miller.
Surviving are 3 brothers, Eugene Heaton of Springfield; Wayne (Pat) Heaton of Canyon City, CO and Eldon (Sherill) Heaton of Henderson, NV, one daughter, Tonia (Kevin) Miller of Littleton; one son, Mark (Debbie) Heffner of Athens; Four grand-children, Andy (Chelsea) Miller of Industry; Doug (Kristen) Miller of Littleton; Lyndsey (Jake) Bosie of Cantrell, and Jarob Heffner of Denver, CO, six great grand-children and many nieces and nephews.
Elaine graduated from Industry High School in 1953 and also attended Gem City Business College in Quincy from 1953-1954. She was a secretary/bookkeeper for several Macomb businesses and was also a Telecommunicator at McDonough County Sheriff’s office for 10 years until retiring in 1994. Elaine was a current member of Order of the Eastern Star #123 in Macomb and also a member of the United Methodist Church of Industry. Elaine enjoyed painting and spending time with family and friends at her and Bob’s Mississippi River cabin on Spring Island in Hamilton.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Rex Featherlin officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2019 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Industry Cemetery.
