Frieda Mae Boyd Prentice, 97, of Macomb went to be with her Lord and Saviour at 2:55 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Wesley Village Healthcare Center in Macomb.
She was born on February 13, 1922 in St. Mary’s, Illinois to Donald M. and Nancy Mae Coleman Boyd. She married C. Paul Prentice on April 23, 1948 in Macomb. He passed away on July 12, 2012.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Darrell Boyd.
Frieda is survived by two daughters, Janice (Randy) Woods of Good Hope and Joyce Prentice of Waialua, Hawaii; three sons, Stan (Phyllis) Prentice of Rushville, Steve (Bev) Prentice of Owasso, Oklahoma and Duane (Joanna) Prentice of McKinney, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren with 1 great-grandchild due in August and one sister, Ruth Walton of Runnels, Iowa.
Frieda lived her early life in rural Plymouth. After her marriage she lived in Colchester, Industry and Macomb. She loved gardening, being a farm wife and babysitting. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church where she enjoyed playing the piano when she was younger.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Reverends Donnie Case and Lyren Haney officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in St. Mary’s.
All are invited back to Wesley Village Community Center following the graveside for a lunch.
