Linda “Lynn” Hofmeister

June 28, 1938 ~ December 13, 2019 (age 81)


Linda “Lynn” Hofmeister, age 81, passed away at her home on December 13, 2019 in Bolivar, MO.

Lynn was born on June 28, 1938 in Clinton, MO to William and Maude (Bowman) Rayburn.  She married Roland Edward Hofmeister on September 6, 1974 in Blandinsville, IL later moving to Colorado Springs, CO in 1986.

Lynn worked beside Roland as office manager in their construction business in Blandinsville until their relocation to Colorado Springs in 1986.  She continued working for many years in the accounting field and began a home based business known as Custom Creations by Lynn while living in Colorado.  In 2013, Lynn moved to Bolivar, MO where she worked from home until her retirement in 2019. 

Lynn was an avid bowler for many years. She spearheaded the junior bowling program in Blandinsville, IL and after moving to Colorado served as a board member and President of the Colorado Springs Women’s Bowling Association and Treasurer and President of the Colorado Springs 600 Bowling Club. She had a genuine passion for sewing and crocheting.  Among her many talents she created amazing Halloween costumes for her grandchildren and beautiful crocheted treasures for her children and friends.  She enjoyed watching her favorite baseball team the KC Royals often expressing her displeasure to bad calls and/or plays by throwing things at the TV.

Lynn is survived by her children:  Patti Glover of Fair Play, MO, Lori (Russ) Kress of Colona, IL, Jeff (Teresa) Hofmeister of Colorado Springs, CO, Dian Hofmeister of Bolivar, MO and Bryan (Robin) Hofmeister of Acworth, GA; Grandchildren:  Billy Jo Glover, Holly Parker, Jeff Glover, Robbie Talbott, Daniel Talbott, Elizabeth Talbott, Kyle Hofmeister, Katie Hofmeister, Alison Coleman, Ashley Hofmeister and Benjamin Hofmeister; 11 Great grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren, brother-in-law Jack Wetzel and several nieces and nephews.

Lynn is preceded in death by her husband, Roland Hofmeister; parents William and Maude Rayburn; sisters Nancy Hall and Carol Wetzel.

Graveside services will be held at 11am on January 11, 2020 at Glade City Cemetery in Blandinsville, IL with Rev. Beth Nelson presiding.  Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home of Macomb, IL is charge of arrangements.  A dinner will be held immediately following the services at the First United Methodist Church in Blandinsville, IL for family and friends.

Lynn was an amazing, funny and loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend.  She was loved by all and will be dearly missed.
