Myrtle B. (Jones) Amerine, 91, of Macomb passed away at 6:40 p.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2019 at Wesley Village Healthcare Center in Macomb.
She was born on June 19, 1928 in Cuba, Missouri to Carl and Jennie E. Scantlan Jones. She married Joseph Lawrence Amerine on January 10, 1954 in Macomb. He passed away on January 14, 1984.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Alan; two brothers and two sisters.
Myrtle is survived by one son, John (Pam) Amerine of Macomb; two sisters, Lisa (William) McLaren of Macomb and Sandra Amerine of Carthage; one granddaughter, Beth Amerine of Macomb; three sisters, Dorothy Abernathy of Texas, Hildred Coons of Arizona and Juanita Johnson of Texas; one brother, Bill Jones of Arizona, numerous nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Myrtle lived most of her adult life in Macomb following her marriage. She attended Shepherd’s Gate Church in Macomb and was a former member of the Prairie City Methodist Church and the Faith Methodist Church in Macomb.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 4, 2019 at Shepherd’s Gate Church in Macomb with Reverend Doug Kuster officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church.
Memorials may be made to Shepherd’s Gate Church or Wesley Village.
