Nedra P. TaylorMay 26, 1921 ~ November 21, 2017 (age 96)
Nedra P. Taylor, 96, of Blandinsville passed away at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Heartland Healthcare Center in Macomb.
Nedra was born on May 26, 1921 to Fred E. and Estella Melvin Covert and lived her childhood years south of Raritan. She graduated from Media High School in 1939 and married Garold Taylor on May 5, 1945 at the Old Bedford Church. She lived the rest of her life in Blandinsville. Nedra worked part-time for many years assisting her husband at their hardware business and then worked for 20 years at NTN-Bowers in Macomb.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Garold in 1990, her beloved youngest child, Dave at age 20 in 1976 and five siblings, brother and sister-in-law, Cecil (Wanda) Covert, sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn (Ivan) Armstrong, brother, Delbert Covert, brother and sister-in-law, Wayne (Mary) Covert and sister, Maxine Games.
Surviving are her son, Dan Taylor of Tuscon, Arizona and daughter, Diann (Delbert) Harper of Chesterfield, Missouri; grandsons, Nathan (Tricia) Harper, Casey (Elizabeth) Harper and Derek (Tristin) Harper; two great-granddaughters and three great-step grandsons.
Nedra will be remembered for her kind and loving spirit. She was devoted to her family and friends and was always willing to help. She loved children and adored her grandchildren, nieces and nephews and had a special bond with her niece, Debbie Smith, and her great-great-nephew, John Crawford.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Blandinsville with Reverend A. Lee Unger officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p,m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glade City Cemetery in Blandinsville.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church in Blandinsville or Harbor Lights Hospice.
