Robert R. "Bob" Walker, 88, of Macomb, formerly of Industry passed away at 10:20 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2018 at the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb.
He was born on April 27, 1929 in Toulon, Illinois to Harold and Ella May Bedwell Walker. He married Joan Cobb in Macomb. He later married Frances Brewer of Roseville.
He is survived by one daughter, Jill (Tim) St. Pierre of Cerro Gordo; five step-children, Marcia (Bill) Brooks, Roseville, John (Bev) Brewer, Macomb, Bonnie (Skip) Rochotte, Moooresville, North Carolina and Richard (Jan) Brewer, Roseville; one son-in-law, James Porter, Mexia, Texas and 12 step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; both wives; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Sandra Walker; daughter, Robin Walker Siepel and step-daughter, Becky Porter.
Bob and his father owned Sinclair Station and Walker’s Ford Garage in Industry for 30 years. Later he owned and operated Walker’s Garage and Dairy Cone in Macomb. In 1974, he and his wife, Fran moved to McAllen, Texas where they managed a Mobile and RV Park until their retirement upon which time they returned to Macomb.
During WWII, Bob was a semi driver carrying material to the east coast and railroad ties and lumber to Camp Ellis.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Reverend Tom Mehaffy officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Industry Cemetery.
