Robert G. “Bob” Wheeler, 82, of rural Macomb passed away at 1:10 a.m. Sunday, September 15, 2019 at the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb.
He was born on November 18, 1936 in McDonough County to Robert L. and Helen Cortelyou Wheeler. He married Kay Morrow on August 3, 1957 in Bushnell. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Robert L. Wheeler of Macomb; one daughter, Ruth (Brian) Hinman of Macomb; two grandchildren, Mary (Joel) Foulk of Macomb and Scott (Kristyn) Hinman of Adair; one great-grandson on the way and two sisters, Marjorie Watt of Silver Spring, Maryland and Norma Foster of Dubuque, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bob lived in rural Macomb in New Salem Township for 59 years. He is a member of the Macomb Masonic Lodge and the Quincy Consistory.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside burial of ashes will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 23, 2019 at Pennington Point Cemetery west of Adair with Reverend Jeremy Westlake officiating. There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to the West Prairie Presbyterian Church or MDH Hospice.
