Ruth Eloise GrahamJune 19, 1917 ~ December 21, 2017 (age 100)
Ruth Eloise Graham, 100, of rural Adair passed away at 4:54 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Prairie City Nursing Home in Prairie City.
She was born on June 19, 1917 in Colchester to Harold and Beulah Daugherty Branchfield. She married Eugene C. Turnbull in 1943. He passed away in 1950. On August 18, 1961 she married James M. "Tim" Graham of Adair in Springfield. He passed away on January 24, 2003.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; her child, Natalie Turnbull and a brother.
She is survived by a cousin, Lowell A. Daugherty of Columbia, Missouri.
She graduated from Colchester High School and immediately started working. After World War II she moved to Springfield. She worked from 1950 to 1961 at Mid-State Wholesale Grocery in Springfield as a bookkeeper. She worked for 26 years at Midwestern Savings Association and then two years at Citizens National Bank.
She was president of McDonough County Health Association for twenty years. She also served on the State HIA Board as Director of District 3 for five years and as Secretary for four years. She was a member of New Salem Christian Church in Adair, serving as secretary, treasurer and organist.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Reverend Dr. Howard White officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb.
