William E. "Bill" Weingartner, 91, of Macomb passed away at 12:55 p.m. Friday, July 14, 2017 at the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb.
He was born on July 27, 1925 in Macomb to Clyde and Catherine Eastin Weingartner. He first married Doris Philson on November 12, 1944 in Greenville, South Carolina. She passed away on February 7, 1986. He then married Debbie Bartels on February 14, 1987 Lake Worth Florida. She passed away on August 10, 1993.
He is also preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Kathy LaVingon and one brother, Robert "Smokey" Weingartner.
Bill is survived by one daughter, Karen (Leonard) Justus of Macomb; two grandchildren, Todd (Joan) Justus of Old Monroe, Missouri and Troy Justus of Springfield; three great-grandchildren, Whitney, Sidney and Dalton and two great-great-grandchildren, Tristan and Liam.
Bill lived in Macomb all of his life. He was a warehouse manager for McDonough Power.
He was an Air Force veteran serving during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Macomb, 68 year member of the Macomb Elks, a 71 year member of the Macomb American Legion and Macomb VFW.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Oakwood Cemetery with Reverend Gary Elg officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Macomb American Legion and Macomb VFW. There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to the Elks Children’s Care, Elms Nursing Home or MDH Hospice .
Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb is in charge of arrangements.
