Clara Jane Russell, 78, of Industry, passed away peacefully on the morning of March 7, with her family by her side.
Jane was the daughter of Alva and Ica (Flack) Skiles. She was born in her Doddsville family home on June 15, 1941. She was one of six children raised on the family farm.
Jane graduated from Industry High School in 1959 where she met the love of her life, Dick Russell. Last year, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. He survives along with their three sons. Todd (Robin) of Macomb, Chad (Dorvea) of Table Grove, and Eric (Yvonne) of Commerce, Texas. Her brother, Jerry (Linda) Skiles and two sister-in-laws, Jan Skiles and Donna Russell also survive.
In addition she is survived by nine grandchildren: Erika Snyder, Ketra (Joe) Roselieb, Derek (Kayla) Switzer, Levi Russell, Lauren Switzer, Kyle (Jill) Russell, Kurt Russell, Nick Russell, and Blake Russell; as well as three great grandchildren: Presley Snyder, Hannah Switzer and Baby Roselieb (due in July).
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters: Velma Skiles, Margie McMillian, Elsie Archer; one brother, Al Skiles; and one grandchild, Cody Russell.
Taking care of family was Jane's first priority. Whether family or friend, Jane made others feel accepted and loved. She spent many years of her life caring for children; babysitting, teaching Sunday school, and donating school supplies to those in need. She was an avid reader and wonderful cook.
Her life was spent loving her husband Dick and her family. She spent many hours waiting on her sons after practices, delivering countless meals to the farm, and always being there to watch and love her grandchildren. In addition, Dick and Jane were avid campers who loved to spend time with their camping groups. Her devoted spirit, smile, and quick wit will be missed by all.
