Obituary

Gerald Monroe Haney Sr., 98, passed away at 3:52 PM on April 1, 2020 at Bickford Cottage in Macomb,Ill.

He was born on January 2, 1922 the son of Willis and Grace Schroder Haney.

He married Mary Skiles on June 21, 1942, she preceded him in death on January 26, 1998.

He is survived by four sons Gerald M. (Carol) Haney Jr, of Industry, James M. Haney of Lakeland, Florida,

Jack W. (Karen) Haney of Cameron, Texas, and David R. (Amy) Haney of Macomb, 15 grandchildren, 10 great- grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son Timothy, one grandson Forrest Haney, and one daughter-in-law Linda Haney.

Gerald had lived in Vermont, Adair, and a short time in Macomb before moving to Industry. Gerald served in the U.S. Army during the Normandy Invasion in World War II . He was a life long farmer ,and had also worked for many years as a mechanic at the Studebaker Garage in Macomb, and then worked for NTN Bower from the time they opened until his retirement. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Private family graveside services will be held at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb. There will be no visitation. Clugston -Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb is in charge of the arrangements. Full military rights will be conducted at the cemetery by the Macomb VFW and the Macomb American Legion, to honor Gerald’s service during World War II. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior's Project. You may sign the guestbook and leave online condolences at clugston-tibbittsfh.com.
