James R. Harman, age 92 of Macomb, passed away at 6:00 AM on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at his home in Macomb.
He was born on January 2, 1928 in Macomb , Illinois the son of Irvin and Mabel Ruddell Harman. He married Zelma Kendrick on November 24, 1949 at the Poe Baptist Church near Clayton, Illinois. She preceded him in death on September 21, 2011.
He is survived by two daughters Kathy Brooks of Rogers ,Arkansas and Peggy Rhodes of Macomb, two grandchildren Jill (James) Marsack of Marysville,Michigan and Jason (Beth)Rhodes of Greensboro, North Carolina , and his beloved dog Sammy. He was preceded in death by his wife , 2 sisters Kathleen Riley, and Betty Temple, and 2 brothers David and Richard Harman.
Jim had lived all his life in Macomb. He served in the Army from 1945 until 1947. He had worked for NTN Bowers in Macomb for many years before his retirement. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Macomb.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Private family graveside burial will be held at the Mound Cemetery in Timewell, Illinois. There will be no visitation. Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, and may be sent directly to the church at 1515 South Candy Lane , Macomb, IL 61455.
