Obituary

Linda L. Reinke, 72, of Macomb passed away at 3 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born on October 24, 1947 in Macomb, to Fred and Bernice Gossage Lucas. They preceded her in death. She has happily resided at Lafayette Square since 2011.

She is survived by two sons: Hughie Stambaugh of St. Augustine, Illinois; and Kevin Stambaugh of Keokuk, Iowa; four grandchildren: Stephen (Jenny) Butterfield, Macomb; Justin Stambaugh, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Elizabeth Stambaugh and Henry Stambaugh, both of Keokuk, Iowa; three great-grandchildren: Jewel, Nia, and Aria Stambaugh, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; three brothers: Michael (Rebecca) Lucas, Industry; Paul (Jackie) Lucas, Good Hope; and Jack Lucas, Macomb; one sister: Pamela Sallee, Oneida. Also surviving is one aunt, Darlyne Gossage of Arkansas; and many very special nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends; and a former daughter-in-law, Regina Stambaugh; all of whom she adored. She is also survived by a step-grandson, Brian Butterfield; one step-granddaughter; two step-great-grandchildren; and three step-great-great-grandchildren; and several in-laws.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a beloved daughter-in-law, Bernadette Stambaugh; a special cousin, Virginia Watson; and her dear friends, Karen Threw and Lois Wilson.

She was a graduate of Bardolph High School and attended Spoon River College in Macomb. She lived in Moberly, Missouri; Shelbyville, Illinois; and Astoria, Illinois before returning to Macomb in 2007. She worked at Royal Haeger Lamp Company; HomeCare of Mid-Missouri; Shelbyville United Methodist Church; and Bridgeway. She was a member of Scotland Trinity Presbyterian Church.

Her greatest joys in life were her family and friends. She loved all of her family. She was very proud of her sons, cherished her grandchildren, and treasured her extended family and numerous friends.

She was happy to keep in touch with classmates she began first grade with at Bardolph including: Peggy Hunter Newkirk; Judy Mason Snyder; Sue Heaton Stambaugh; Linda Weaver Twait; and Jerry Lindsay.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Because of the restrictions caused by COVID-19, a Memorial service to celebrate how well she lived and loved will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Scotland Trinity Presbyterian Church at 14950 N. 900th Macomb ,with Reverend Dan Colvin officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services.

Memorials may be made to the Scotland Trinity Presbyterian Church or Lafayette Square.
